Hazrat Abu Waqid Laysi Radiyallahu Anhu Biography:

Abu Waqid Laysi r.a

Name and lineage:

Harith, the name of Abu Waqid, the nick name. The lineage is as follows: Harith bin Malik bin Asid bin Jabir bin Hawthrah bin Abd Manat bin Al-Ashja bin Laysi.

Islam and battles:

Abu Waqid embraced Islam in the early years of the migration. After accepting Islam, his sword was first used in the great battle of Badar. He states that he pursued a polytheist in Badar. But before I could strike, another Muslim finished his work. Some scholars consider the tradition of Siran's participation in Badar to be doubtful. After Badar, he participated in the Treaty of Hudaybiyah, the conquest of Mecca and Hunayn, etc.

He lived in Madina throughout his life. He had gone to Mecca a few days before his death.

Battle of Yarmouk:

He participated in the massacre of the Syrian army as a fighter. He was present in the famous battle of Yarmouk.

Death:

He was destined to live in the holy land of Mecca, so he went to Mecca in his last years and was buried in the same holy land in 68 AH, a year after coming here. At the time of his death, he was 75 or 85 years old, according to different traditions.
