The wisdom and foresight of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him):
Hazrat Ali R.A Ka Waqia: Mola Ali Ki Zahanat
Suddenly a horseman came running and said in a loud voice: O Messenger of Allah (ﷺ)! The Quraysh of Mecca has broken its promise, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) has started preparations for the conquest of Mecca. On the other hand, Hazrat Hatib bin Abi Balta’ah (may Allah be pleased with him) wrote a letter to the Quraysh in which he mentioned the news of the Holy Prophet’s (ﷺ) departure for Mecca and the preparations for the invasion of Mecca. Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) gave the letter to a woman and gave her some money to deliver it to the Quraysh of Mecca. So the woman hid the letter in her hair, tied it up and immediately set off for Mecca. When the news of this act of Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) reached her through divine revelation, the Holy Prophet (ﷺ) sent Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and Hazrat Miqdad (may Allah be pleased with him) or Hazrat Zubair bin Awam (may Allah be pleased with him) to arrest her and said: Arrest this woman. Hatib (may Allah be pleased with him) has written a letter to the Quraysh of Mecca in which he has warned them about our preparations etc. The two men ran and found the woman at that very place. They asked the woman: Do you have any letter? She said in panic: No, I do not have any. They searched the woman's belongings and luggage but found nothing. When they both started to return in despair, Sayyiduna Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, said to the woman with a heart full of determination and faith: By Allah! The revelation that came to the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) cannot be false, and the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ) did not lie to us either. By Allah! You take out that letter or we will strip you naked. When the woman saw the seriousness of the matter and the seriousness on her face, she said: Just turn your face away. Hazrat Ali (r.a) turned away from her and took out the letter from his hair. Hazrat Ali and Zubair (r.a)'s faces brightened. They grabbed the letter and took it and immediately set off towards the Messenger of Allah (ﷺ).
