The Bravery of Hazrat Ali R.A

The story of Hazrat Ali's bravery in the Battle of Uhud:

Battle of Uhud:

In the Battle of Uhud, the embers of battle were falling, the corpses of the polytheists were scattered here and there under the blows of the swords of the brave, and death was hovering over their heads. At that moment, Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) became the standard-bearer of the Muslims. Abu Sa'd bin Abi Talha, the standard-bearer of the polytheists, saw him and galloped his horse to the middle of the battlefield where necks were flying and said proudly: Is there any man in the field? No one answered. He shouted in a tone of arrogance and pride: Don't you say that your slain will go to Paradise and our slain will go to Hell? Does any of you not want him to go to Paradise by my sword or I to go to Hell by his sword? Hazrat Ali bin Abi Talib, may Allah be pleased with him, answered the call of the polytheist Abu Saad bin Abi Talha and said: By the One in Whose Hand is my soul, I will not leave you until you take me to Paradise with your sword or I take you to Hell with my sword. The two went out to the battlefield and they faced each other. But Hazrat Ali struck him with a blow of his sword and severed his leg, and he fell to the ground and Abu Saad became naked. Then he said: O cousin! I swear to you by God and ask you for mercy, Hazrat Ali, may Allah be pleased with him, left him. Then the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him) said: Allahu Akbar: The companions of Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) asked: Why did you leave him? You could have finished his work. Hazrat Ali (RA) replied to him that his nakedness was revealed in front of me and he had also appealed to me for mercy!
