Complete Life of Hazrat "Abu al-Haytham bin al-Tayhan" Radi Allahu Anhu (رَضِيَ اللَّهُ عَنْهُ)
Hazrat Abu al-Haytham bin al-Tayhan
Name and lineage:
Malik is the name of Abu al-Haytham, the kunya of the tribe of Aws. The lineage is as follows: Malik bin al-Tayhan bin Malik bin Atik bin Umar and bin Abdul-Alam bin Amir bin Zawra bin Jatham bin Harith bin Khazraj bin Amr bin Malik bin Aws.
Zawra was the brother of Abdul-Ashhal. On this basis, Abu al-Haytham is the cousin of Asid bin Hudair. Some people believe that he was only related to Abdul-Ashhal by alliance. In fact, he was a member of the Bali family. This is the opinion of Ibn Saad, but the majority of opinions are in favor of the first narration.
Islam:
He believed in monotheism in the pre-Islamic period. It was in Ibn Saad.
That is, Asad bin Zurarah and Abu al-Haythamin Tihan used to express the idea of monotheism in Medina.
When Asad bin Zurarah came from Mecca with 6 men as Muslims, he told Abu al-Haytham about his conversion to Islam and taught him about Islam. Abu al-Haytham was already a seeker of the religion of nature. He immediately responded to this call.
A year later, Abu al-Haytham was among the 12 men who went to Mecca. He swore allegiance to the Holy Prophet (peace and blessings of Allah be upon him). The next year, he went with 70 men and participated in the Battle of the Pledge of Allegiance. It is said that the first person to extend his hand for allegiance was Abu al-Haytham. This is the statement of Banu Abdul Ashhal and Musa bin Uqbah has narrated this from Imam Zuhri.
After the oath of allegiance, the Naqeebs were elected, and among Banu Abdul Ashhal, Asid bin Hudair and Abu al-Haytham were presented for this position.
