The Story of Hazrat Umar (RA) and a blind old woman:
On one side of Madina, there was a small house in which a blind old woman lived, who had no worldly possessions except a bucket, a goat and a mat made of palm leaves. Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) used to check on this woman every night, arrange water for her and improve her condition.
Some time passed. One day Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) went to her house and saw that everything was neatly and in order. He immediately understood that someone must have come before him who had put all the work in order. After that, he (may Allah be pleased with him) came several times and every time he saw someone come before him and do the housework and clean the house etc. (One day) Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) hid in a corner near the house to find out who had come before him and done all the work. Suddenly he saw a man approaching the house, he knocked on the door, then went inside, he was Hazrat Abu Bakr Siddique (RA) who was the Caliph of the Muslims at that time. Hazrat Umar (RA) came out of this hidden place, the truth became clear to him (RA), expressing surprise to himself and said: Abu Bakr! By God! It could be you, by God! It could be you.
