Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) giving a kiss to Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him):

Hazrat Umar Kisses Hazrat Ali:

A man came to the Commander of the Faithful, Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him), crying and crying loudly: O Commander of the Faithful! Help me! O Commander of the Faithful! Help me! Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) was astonished and said: Hey! Against whom should I help you?

The man looked at Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: Against the man who is sitting opposite you (may Allah be pleased with him).

Hazrat Umar ibn al-Khattab (may Allah be pleased with him) looked at Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) and said: O Abu al-Hasan! Get up and sit opposite your party. Hazrat Ali ibn Abi Talib (may Allah be pleased with him) got up and sat opposite his opponent. The two of them argued with each other. Then the person who had asked for help went back and Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him) sat opposite his party. Hazrat Umar (may Allah be pleased with him) saw that Hazrat Ali (may Allah be pleased with him)'s face had changed. Hazrat Umar (RA) asked: O Abu Al-Hasan: What is the matter, why has your complexion changed? Did you (RA) feel displeased with this incident?

Hazrat Ali (RA) said: Yes, Hazrat Umar (RA) asked: What did you (RA) feel displeased with? Hazrat Ali (RA) said: You (RA) mentioned me by my kunya in the presence of my opposing party and said: O Abu Al-Hasan! Get up! Why didn't you (RA) say: O Ali (RA)! Get up and sit with your opposing party?

Amirul Momineen Farooq Azam (RA)'s face lit up, traces of happiness became visible on his face, he hugged Hazrat Ali (RA) and started kissing him saying: My parents are sacrificed for you, because of you Allah has guided us and because of you Allah has brought us out of darkness and given us light!
